Australian Foot and Ankle Society

The AOFAS is a subspecialty group of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, consisting of experienced orthopaedic surgeons with a dedicated focus on the care of foot and ankle conditions.  The subspecialty group was created to foster the continuing education and innovation of foot and ankle care to patients around Australia.

Being medically trained practicioners our members can provide experienced care in both the medical and surgical aspect of foot and ankle conditions.  Members of the society have the recognized training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Royal Australian College of Surgeons to provide treatment in both public and private hospitals.

The society acts as a advocate for patients to ensure that surgical treatment of the foot is carried out by appropriately trained medical professionals who have the experience to treat you condition and mange any complications that may arise.


Annual Scientific Meeting

The Society holds annual scientific meetings, where members discuss the problems and emerging treatments surrounding foot and ankle care.  Our panel includes both local and  prominant International speakers
